We are a company excel at cutting and processing technology for cover glass (chemically reinforced glass) used for information terminals including high-functional mobile phone (smart phone) which has rapidly spread in recent years.
Without any established technology for cutting chemically reinforced glass in the market as of now, business operators take various methods on their own such as a method in which finish processing is performed upon a chemical treating after cutting uncut float glass (ordinary plate green glass) and those using a costly process of etching with the similar processes. While terminal device manufacturers have been outsourcing cutting and reinforcing processes of glass to processing companies in order not to increase manufacturing processes in their own plants, the lower yield ratio has caused larger cost in the working processes.
Since reinforced glass is produced by glass manufacturers and terminal device manufacturers are unable to cut such glass (or productivity is low due to poor yield ratio) if provided as is by them, such processing is outsourced to processing companies resulting in utilization of laser processing or etching processing with higher costs.
While reinforced glass is used also for products of major terminal manufacturers, these glasses are chemically reinforced after a cutting process by Taiwanese firms. Therefore, a technology for efficiently cutting reinforced glass is needed to eliminate the large barrier for manufacturing process reduction (cost reduction) and shift to next-generation technology in the liquid crystal field.
Our cutting technology has various capabilities including not only cutting of 5 to 10 plates of glasses all together at once and straight cutting on the outside of reinforced glass but also cutting of glass into exact shapes used for current smart phones such as round cutting on the four corners, rectangular and round shapes provided by each manufacturer.
We have already succeeded in cutting glass with reinforced layer with a degree of reinforcement of 40μm or higher.
As this technique has been realized in combination with a totally new concept of cutting technology and high-frequency spindle, it is totally our original design even though the appearance is similar to conventional ones. With the patent for the processing technology and the manufacturing equipment already obtained and the core technology of the product protected by a black box, it is a cutting-edge technology that no other company can catch up.
As the technology is an invention extremely difficult to be developed leaving no chance for other companies to catch up, our engineers involved in development of the technology have triune grade - A technologies, i.e. 1) high-frequency technology, 2) processing technology and 3) tool technology and have studied various peripheral technologies relating to glass cutting for long years.
As a result of consistent repeated tests in combination with the technologies described above, optimal data for processing has been accumulated.
It is essential to equip the machine with this data as a processing recipe as a glass processing condition after chemical reinforcement.
Larger cost arises in case of conventional technologies in the market even from a perspective of capital investment (equipment).
Compared with our facility with a monthly production scale of 1 million plates in both quality and quantity, capital investment required for such facility based on conventional technologies is almost two times as much as that of our facility.
As the result, many business operators manufacture products by expensive equipment with a poor yield ratio by offsetting the high cost through outsourced processing by labor-intensive and low cost operators in China and Taiwan.
This framework has caused the largest problem of deterioration in quality with less throughput for the time spent.
Eve from the perspective of feasibility and profitability, our technology may achieve a capital investment to greatly improve businesses.
